Its spring break time, but you don’t have to jet off to Cancun to have a great time!
There are many ways to enjoy a spring break staycation in Northeast Ohio, both for families and adults.
Hit the Cleveland Classics
It’s always fun to act like a tourist in your own town. Think of those places you might only go when someone visit from out-of-town and make a point to take yourself there. Grab breakfast at the West Side Market, learn the history of rock at the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame, have dinner on East 4th Street, roll the dice at JACK Cleveland Casino, and catch a show at Playhouse Square.
Use your spring break staycation to explore the amazing museums in Cleveland. Start in University Circle with the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, the Western Reserve Historical Society’s Cleveland History Center, the Cleveland Botanical Garden, and MOCA Cleveland.
A cultural staycation is great for all ages! Everyone in the family can find something new and engaging to explore!
Go Back to Nature
While spring break time in Northeast Ohio can still be a bit chilly, you’re probably used to it by now! So bundle up and head to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park for a breath of fresh air! It’s also a great (and less crowded) time to see the animals at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, the Akron Zoo, and the Lake Metroparks Farm Park.
Have a Spirited Time
For an adult staycation, Northeast Ohio has a multitude of options of both wineries and craft breweries to enjoy. Head to Ashtabula County for a day or two of exploring the wineries. While the wineries are best known for being a summer destination, there is much to enjoy in the spring, from ice wine to cozy fireplaces.
Ohio City offers a huge concentration of craft breweries. You can easily make a day of walking around the area from the classic Great Lakes Brewing Co. to the newer options like Forest City Brewery and Saucy Brew Works.
You can pack your bags for adventure without going too far from home. You might just rediscover an old favorite place or find a new fabulous location to enjoy, all right here in Northeast Ohio!
