Autumn at Baldwin Wallace

It’s a special moment when you realize how much you love the place you work. There’s a reason I’ve built a career in college admission counseling: how much fun it is to help students achieve their goals! My employer is Baldwin Wallace University, a private institution in Berea, which is a suburb of Cleveland.

Every day I step on campus, I have a new opportunity to enjoy and share all that BW has to offer. Truly, it’s a crown jewel of Northeast Ohio!

With almost 4,000 Yellow Jackets on campus at any given moment, BW is a premier example of how we’re so lucky to live in a region that’s an education hub. Of course, campus is a beautiful place to be. I recommend taking a walk there right about now! When the leaves change, our grounds become an autumn wonderland.

Perfect for Instagram, right?

Another snap-worthy spot on campus includes BW’s student union:

And the pedestrian walkway that was once Grand Street. It’s truly glorious!

And the rose fountain! Set amidst academic buildings, a chapel, and a residence hall, this is a calming spot to sit and study.

If you’re ready to step off campus and explore Berea, you’ll have plenty to see. Nestled inside two Cleveland Metroparks, the city lies a mere 20 minutes from downtown Cleveland. Walkable and fun, it’s a college town with all the essentials. Plus, BW has just finished construction on a new residence hall with shops and restaurants!

Speaking of parks, the site of a former sandstone quarry, Coe Lake is just off south campus. I can confirm there is no better place to eat lunch and read on a warm day.

Anyone interested in Baldwin Wallace is welcome to stop by campus anytime. Stinger the Yellow Jacket is our mascot, and we’d be happy to welcome you for a visit to the hive!
